  • I have an appointment at the job centre at 14:25 I suppose I will attend.

I've been getting multiple reminders through text messages, emails, universal credit journal.  All warning me of the consequences of non attendance.

The real problem is that my left foot is still in agony after three days, even with pain killers and I am having difficulty walking.

  • show it to your GP

---- elevate it eg lie on sofa with foot on the top of back of sofa,, to see if that reduces the pain

some painkillers dont reach into all parts of body thats why u need to talk to GP as they will need a presription

  • It's a recurring injury, GP has given me a large supply of pain killers.

Foot has also been x-rayed, so no fracture.

  • yes the double glazing people i worked for pushed the finance packages  ( loans ) which they trained you to do. Its where they made the real money.  In our case your windows would be removed if you stopped your payments ! ( because they technically still owned them )

oddly the company i worked for went bust,  i dont know why.  i hope someone took them to court  Slight smile

i was busy selling their windows house to house and wasnt told they where gone 2 weeks ago

  • This company offered to replace doors and windows at no cost to yourself.

Their figures were completely false,. They even offered high interest loans and then threatened people when they couldn't pay.

They gave people high interest unsecured loans and pretended that the loans were secured on your property.  Pay up or lose your home!

  • i have done some double glazing sales which was cold calling which was ok.

then i moved to another sales company ------ calendar/diaries/advertisement sheets and yes you had to be ruthless and lie all the time

the calendar/diaries/advertisement sheets pretended to help charities but they only got 5% of the money taken. You where telling companies ( the people I rang )  that their money would help a certain charity but it was a complete lie.

I was so glad to get away from them  i took the next temp civil service job to get away from them.

if u didnt meet certain targets you where fired

  • The only job I turned down that was offered to me, was many years ago.  The job centre description was that it was marketing.  I was looking forward to analysing data in an office.

The actual job turned out to be 100% cold calling Tele sales of double glazing using very forceful techniques.

A year later the company was featured on one of these rouge traders TV program and described as the worst they've seen, who took advantage of elderly and vulnerable people.
