I have always been a solid animal lover. When I was a child (elementary aged), my best friend was a horse named Jerry. I had a very hard time making friends with kids my age, but had no problems connecting to this horse. He wasn't even ours, he lived down the road from us. But I would go down everyday, sometimes multiple times per day, to visit him. I would go inside his fence, and we would just walk around together and I would talk to him. I don't remember what we talked about, but I do remember that he was the only one I could talk to. (In hindsight, I can only imagine what his owners thought of me!)
Since that time I have almost always had pets. Right now we have 3 cats and 2 dogs. I feel such a connection with them, one that I just don't feel naturally with people (with the exception of my children).
horses love that,,,,, i used to stand in a field at night a Thoroughbred would come and put her nose on my shoulder and just relax. I found her so calming.

i was thrown by a horse and was knocked unconscious on the road. When i came around i swear the horse was laughing. never got on one again. I bought a motorcycle instead.
so be careful. i like them as they are,,, not with me on top of them lol
