waiting to hear back about referral

I asked to get referred for assessment 9 weeks ago this Saturday and still have not heard anything back. How would I chase this up? My tutors have suggested getting another GP appointment to chase it up, but I have no idea what I'm supposed to say to the GP.

  • Your GP might have made the referral, but you haven't had a confirmation from the assessment centre that you're on a waiting list.

You might not need an appointment, if the receptionist is able to ascertain that for you.  I'd ring and politely ask whether the referral has been sent off and if so where to.  Then ring them ask if they could just confirm receipt and give you a ball park idea as to how long the wait is.

My GP told me he sent the referral but I haven't heard a thing from the centre.
