waiting to hear back about referral

You may have to chase it up every now and again.  Did they send out paperwork with an AQ test on it by any chance? Reality is even when the referall is made the waiting list is a post code lottery, some areas it can take weeks in others it can take years.

Your GP might have made the referral, but you haven't had a confirmation from the assessment centre that you're on a waiting list.

You might not need an appointment, if the receptionist is able to ascertain that for you.  I'd ring and politely ask whether the referral has been sent off and if so where to.  Then ring them ask if they could just confirm receipt and give you a ball park idea as to how long the wait is.

My GP told me he sent the referral but I haven't heard a thing from the centre.

make an appointment for july so that u dont forget to chase it up

My regular GP doesn't have any appointments avaliable till July, by then three or four months will have passed so maybe I will hear something before then

don't ring everyday thats abusive and u could be stuck off your GP list which they have the right to do . Ring again ( GP appointment by phone ? ),  to see what they say. Mine took 3 months or so, then bang, I got an appointment by post !

just say you are checking that your request is "in the pipeline" and "what is the expected waiting time ?"
