Something I don't get about neurotypicals...

Something that really baffles and annoys me about neurotypicals is that they are so tribal, and they tend to make decisions collectively. Eg they collectively reject people, they collectively have the same hobbies, wear the same clothes etc and they operate in groups. This is something that has always baffled me because I make my own decisions and form my own opinions. I don't understand why neurotypicals are so obsessed with fitting in to a group.

  • It's never too late to change direction, you can learn to code for free these days online.

But remember to factor in the day to day of it all. I spend all day everyday, apart from weekends, alone, in a darkened room, moving pixels around. Might sound good for a day or so, but after 10 years I start my week feel lonely, and I end it feeling glad it's over.

I'd love to be outdoors more, being part of something bigger, or maybe even around animals.

A laptop screen can feel like a cage if your mind is kept within it long enough

  • Yes, I'm aware of that but I find I only really get absorbed in a new interest if there is a social motivation I.e. someone I like to be around is interested in something.

I dont know anyone techy that I spend much time speaking to, so I'd be lonely as you have pointed out. I fulfil my needs with my hobbies instead. Currently knitting and crochet for the past 6 years.
