Something I don't get about neurotypicals...

Something that really baffles and annoys me about neurotypicals is that they are so tribal, and they tend to make decisions collectively. Eg they collectively reject people, they collectively have the same hobbies, wear the same clothes etc and they operate in groups. This is something that has always baffled me because I make my own decisions and form my own opinions. I don't understand why neurotypicals are so obsessed with fitting in to a group.

  • I used to play along with it when I was younger. Big groups, drinking, partying, holidays. Now I couldn't think of anything worse. I hate being in groups of people where you get the same kind of conversations over and over again and everybody tries their best to be agreeable. 2-3 conversations going on at the same time.

You're right, they all copy each other. It's learnt from a very early age, at school.

  • Yeah I used to play along when I was younger too, I tried and tried and bent over backwards trying to fit in. Now I just don't bother anymore. And yeah they do have the same conversations over and over, or their conversations are very superficial and fake.
