Hi, can anyone recommend any books, podcasts etc... about adult autism? Any about woman and masking? I'm just looking to try and gain a better understanding of myself.
New book for my Bank Holiday reading: Just what I need at the moment to get some help with my mental health. A self help book by Tony Attwood for depression in ASD. Good so far.

Ohh, Thank you!
I would recommend Spectrum Women: Walking to the Beat of Autism. It is a collection of experiences by autistic women. There are many different chapters which include topics such as identity, socialising, anxiety and communication.

Bounced for Pax Take a look at these as a starter.

Great read.
I liked the Luke Bearden bok and am going to recommend it to work colleagues so they can get an idea of how i feel
Yes I do a lot of reading and some of my favourite books are the Jack Reacher books, Lord of the Rings and any books by Agatha Christie, especially Nemesis which is my all time favourite book.
New book just delivered today - will let you know how it goes, but looks good.
Autism and Depression: A workbook for adolescents and adults. By Katie Saint and Carlos Torres.
I like Sarah Hendrickx - books and youtube talks. I like Yo Samdy Sam youtube blog. I like Anna Moomin on youtube cos she's Northern.
Rudy Simone was the first book I bought on the subject and found it quite unbelievable at points.
New book is by one of the speakers at the Autism and Mental Health Conference coming up - I am Special, 2nd edition. which is a workbook - it's a guide and then you download the workbook sheets. I'm up to Chapter 3 and finding it good so far.
I am just reading "Autism and Asperger Syndrome in Adults" by Luke Bearden.
I'll let you know how it goes, but so far I am enjoying it. I really enjoyed "Been there. Done that. Try this" that Ethan has recommended.
I like the Luke Bearden book because I am looking for a more self-accepting viewpoint on my autism. Less "Disorder", more "Different".
I am also looking for more reading material and also recommendations of where I can buy Kindle books apart from on the "other place"
If they didn't have that whole Prime thing going on I'd have dumped them years go. I'm starting to go elsewhere though, some of their pricing is scandalous and now I'm home-working it's no biggie about delivery day.
All Cats have Autism - that's on my work desk at home. (Cat fan, I am soothed by the pics when things are a bit work-stressy)
Thank you for these suggestions- i will take alook and get my reading started :)
Cheers for those recommendations, I'll look into them. I'm burning through autism books like it's my new special interest!
I like Aspergirls best so far for understanding myself, even though I'm an asperboy. I also found All Cats Have Autism, and Inside Autism Looking Out both good for relating to my childhood experience and traumas.
There's been some good resources shared in posts on masking these past months, inc blogs and youtubes. Use the search tool to have a browse through them.
I try to avoid Amazon too Ethan, it's hard though, esp as they buy up competitors. Bookdepository got bought up a good ten years ago:(
For books: My current go-to books are
Been there, done that, try this (Tony Attwood et al)
https://uk.jkp.com/products/been-there-done-that-try-this
(really like this one, short chapters, autobiographical info and psychologist insights)
And The unwritten rules of social relationships (Temple Grandin / Sean Barron)
Book review @ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7672013/ available from Book Depository https://www.bookdepository.com/Unwritten-Rules-Social-Relationships-Temple-Grandin/9781941765388 (probably the other place too but Jeff Bezo's gets enough publicity as it is).
Jessica Kingsley publishers specialises in autism books so there may be something there that fits the bill https://uk.jkp.com/
