My GP has referred me for a diagnosis, and I have a letter saying I will be offered an 'initial diagnostic triage appointment'?

Has anyone had one of these? What happens? The uncertainty is already bothering me and I want to be prepared.

Thanks very much in advance for any help.

Great advice, thank you. I was planning to do that for the actual assessment, but wasn't sure what they'd do at this initial one, but yes, that makes sense if I have all the same information ready and with me. Thanks again.

its an initial chat to talk to you and for u to say why u think u are autistic. they will ask questions which u just answer honestly. Nothing to stress about.

Make a list of reasons why u think u are autistic.

include relatives in your family who are autistic or adhd or called weird/different

and a list of occasions when u have been called weird, autistic, different

the list should be electronic ie so you can email it to anyone who wants it.
