Were my epileptic seizures actually meltdowns

I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 8 but not with ASD until I was 30, so is there a chance that some of my epileptic seizures may have actually been meltdowns or something autism related.

I realize we are not neurologists here (some of us might be?) but really I was wondering if anyone knew how similar an epileptic seizure might be to an autistic meltdown. And whether one could be mistaken for the other

Sorry I'm sure I got the lingo wrong. I'm fairly new to this.

  • I don't think so, I have a seizure disorder and you can definitely tell the difference between the seizure and an autistic shut down/melt down.

if you were diagnosed with an EEG then they would have seen the epilepsy in your brain waves. EEG interpretation is very accurate for epilepsy if you can get one when the person is having a seizure or pre/immediate post seizure activity.
