I remember my dad telling me something like that (my dad is a retired carpenter / joiner and my uncle is a mechanic so they'd probably be ideal but he did say that and I remember holidays at Haven! :s

The problem with garden tiny living / caravan / van life is the amount of insulation built into the structure - a caravan is typically only 25mm wall thickness - you will freeze!    You'd be amazed at the amount of heat energy needed to heat the space and fight off the condensation and damp & mould.

My friend has a van that he goes away in for weekends - he refers to it as a metal tent - not very comfortable but better than canvas.

You really need at least 100mm of foam insulation to feel comfortable.

Yeah, I just gave up...I got DLA for over a decade and it was just too much but I see people all around me getting it so I might but I think this time I'll speak to someone who knows more about it

:))) lol we currently live in a social house so don't have the luxury of a driveway or a big garden as such :) also i'm not a fan of the garden anyway, it would not bother me if i had no garden

I spent the first few months of lockdown watch tiny living videos on Youtube where people did just that!

Having said I got zero points, it was before I got my official ASD diagnosis and I took my mum who'd just had heart surgery so they probably looked at her, then looked at me...I also didn't appeal as I thought none was targeted at me. I may reapply this year though.

if you have a very big garden you could live in a caravan in the garden ? this is a semi joke but people do this. eg people living in a caravan on their driveway

I have been looking on zoopla etc. Standard around my area is like around £110 a week. I would need housing benefit help to help me cover the costs.

I just really dont know what to do... its such a confusing time. I really don't want to lose my pip either.

private renting --- the quick way to find out whats on the renting market is to put your postcode into PropertyPal.com. Theres a setting for Renting dont forget to select that otheriwise u get all the houses for sale instead.  Whats the cheapest flat / room you can rent in your area ?

It would definitely trigger a change in PIP from what I've heard (well done for getting it though, Hydrocephalus, epilepsy, asthma, autism...and I got zero points at my appointment).
