Smart clothes

My 14 year old six foot tall son is very sensitive about clothing and really only wears t-shirts and trackies.  We are going to a posh family party soon and I would like to get him some trousers that are smarter than trackies but comfortable for him.  Can anyone recommend a shop or brand that might have something suitable?

Wearing the correct clothes for a particular occasion helps boost my confidence - which, believe me, needs some boosting where social events are concerned.  Also, to wear casual dress to what you know is a special occasion can look insulting to your hosts.

If it boosts your confidence then thats great. I think different people tick in different ways and should be allowed to express that. Some people love nothing more than to 'get dressed up'. If that makes someone feel good then thats really good. Is it more 'correct' than trackies? or anything else?

As far as 'insulting' your host then that I find confusing. If I wanted to insult someone I would not do it by wearing particular clothes. That seems ineffective.

If the reason for wearing uncomfortable clothes you don't like is that you don't want to offend the hosts then maybe discussing it beforehand might help. Would you be offended if someone wore particular clothes? If you really think the host would be offended then check with them first. I am sure that there are few people who really care. They most likely just want to be surrounded by their friends and having a nice time (feeling comfortable and happy).
