Did I write something to upset you?
If I did, I feel guilty.
happy new year DC
Caption this Picture:
"Seasons Greetings to all and try to be happ-eee; See the picture behind Me is Christmas-eee; I'm inside a giant Bauble so let Me beee; Little Children please do not throw food at Meee... But every Passer-by is welcome to throw Mon-eeyeee!"
...Or something. (!) Christmas is tomorrow, but I M'self always prefer to say at this time of Year...Happy New Year, Anyone.
lol
I went shopping today and came across a very up to date Christmas singer, social distancing inside a bubble.
I kind of liked this Thread, but "Simon" is gone. (!) Still 2 days to go. Anyone else with a Christmas Thread Yet? When <> stuck indoors with most shops shut, Christmas Threads pop up, y'know...
thanks for that
Your nearly right.
The criteria is you need a licence to watch or record any live program on any device.
Do I need a TV Licence to watch streaming services like Netflix, Amazon or Now TV? - TV Licensing
Sometimes I feel like that too. Going a bit tangential here but I watch old episodes of "The Office" and feel comfortable. The tucked in shirts, ties, staid style. Nowadays even office workers look hi-tech and cool, some of them wear T-shirts and they all have them lanyards hanging around their necks with a photo ID. It all seems very weird now, how things are.
It feels very cruel to me that our law still allows people to be prosecuted for not having a TV license or watching without one when we live in a digital, globalized world now.
Life has become very complex. I don't feel I fit any more
ok i would have to remove my cable,,,, i'll review what i watch to see how much live TV i watch thanks with the money saved i can get an annual amazon subscription
Wrong. You don't need a TV licence unless you connect the TV to an aerial (or satellite or cable receiver) and tune it in.
A TV - with a built in Freeview tuner - used to watch DVDs, Netflix, YouTube, or with a game console does not require a TV licence.
Yeah you’ll love it.
thats ok but i may be able to not pay one -
just worked out unless i buy a huge monitor i can't do it as my tv can receive and thats enough to need a license
I do pay my TV licence.
I have a smartphone with decent, fast,4G, internet access.
theres more ---- its really tricky
For example, you don’t need a TV licence to watch movies and TV programmes on DVD or Blu-ray, or streamed from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Now TV, YouTube and similar services … unless they stream live TV.
You don’t need a TV licence to watch programmes on catch-up TV services, with the exception of the BBC’s iPlayer. You can watch anything stored on services such as ITV Hub, All 4 and My5, as long as you don’t watch live TV. These services are, after all, paid for by advertising.
However, you do need a TV licence to use the BBC’s advert-free iPlayer catch-up service. In this case, you’re paying the BBC because you are consuming BBC content.
