The spiralling number of children refusing to go to school

I made an effort at School, but feel like I'm punished for doing so.

The other kids knew their destiny, while I didn't. 

Whole system is totally broken ,la's  spend more on trying to get out of any additional expense than providing it .

Schools bully parents with "difficult " children to unroll ,then left with no education . It's a national disgrace .  

This is an issue that the NAS will almost certainly shy away from investigating.

I'm on the fence regarding the entire argument.

I was a school refuser throughout my entire childhood.  Schools and socialising was a nightmare.

Home schooling was a misnomer.  It really meant no schooling.

School has a number of functions - the primary is to educate children.        However there's also the teaching of routine and discipline and self discipline.

Some cultures just do not do home schooling - they wouldn't dream of owning a book so their kids grow up mostly feral and by the time they go to school, they are not there to learn - just disrupt - and most finish school being illiterate and virtually unemployable.   But that's fine if their career is going to be crime, drugs and then jail.

A lot depends on the lifestyle you want for your kids - let them struggle all their lives or educate them to be successful.

It doesn't suit everyone.

School not only robs children of their childhood, but robs parents of the joy of parenting. Yeah parenting is tough these days and packing them off to school no doubt a relief, but if society were different and kids were allowed to play and learn together safely then we could all be happier.

Indeed. However it's also important investment is put in place into home schooling, especially for children with special educational needs and disability. 

This is a good thing! 

School teaches you how to fail, how to lose and how to be an utter miserable adult. School should be scrapped. It is an abuse system and nothing else.
