Street cannabis remains illegal in all its forms. The card simply protects you in case you're stopped by the police. It verifies that you're a medical user and the police have been trained about its use.
For legal medical cannabis you'd still need to go to one of the private cannabis clinics, meet their criteria and buy their prescribed product - usually bud (to be vaped, not smoked) or oil. They sometimes prescribe capsules but not edibles. But then you'd have a prescription to prove to the police that it's legal.
