  • Suits me too - lovely and quiet, people seem friendlier while out on a walk, more wildlife around - not seen any squashed squirrels or dead birds anywhere!   Smiley    We watched the rabbits playing in the big field yesterday evening.     I like it.

The only odd thing is people's dogs while out walking - they all desperately want to come and say hello but they can't for cross-contamination reasons.     They all want a fuss from the strangers they meet.     Even the cats along the route are getting desperate for attention - they run after us meowing.  Smiley

  • Yes it's lovely for the wildlife. I recently did a double-take; as an adult swan and one of her offspring, had ventured across what had previously been a busy roundabout and were just sitting there watching the odd car pass Relieved .... the world feels more balanced.

  • I take my dog out everyday and have seen ducks on the playing fields much further inland where I never saw them previously. The small local park even had swans and an heron in the small fishing lake as the car park is closed and no-one is allowed to go fishing there.

In the past I always had to go to the nature park to see swans and geese and the elusive heron was near impossible to catch by the edge of the lake!  (catch as in 'to see' or take a photo of' not physically try to catch it!) Saw a kingfisher too but it had taken off before I'd managed to get my phone out and get a pic!

Even spotted some kind of small hawk/kestrel type bird sat on the rugby posts in a field over in a neighbouring field. couldn't get close enough to identify it though as it had flown off by the time I got anywhere near close enough to get a pic (even with zoom).

I'm hunting for the battery for the better camera I have with longer zoom lens cos the iphone can't match it for power and clear shots at far distance.

  • How lovely, I am sure there will be lots of amazing wildlife  photography post lockdown Relaxed
