Does anyone have sporadic sounds?

I often find, that out of nowhere, i make sudden odd sounds.

Sudden inflexions.....NoISes!

They are therapeutic but very odd at the same time.

  • I have a few wierd noises that I get a compulsion to make sometimes, and to say made up words sometimes as well.

    It's kind of hard to describe the noises. I don't do them with my mouth, they're in the back of my throat with my mouth shut. One is sort of half-way between a growl and a purr, and another I can only describe as "throat whistling". I quite often catch myself doing it and don't know when I started. They're not very loud, so I don't get caught doing it very often.

    The made up words; I jokingly call "speaking in tongues". I really like combinations of sounds that English words don't usually have, and I find it really fun to do.  I can usually resist the urge if there are other people around, but I sometimes slip into it, or just normal talking to myself out loud, without noticing.
