I often find, that out of nowhere, i make sudden odd sounds.
Sudden inflexions.....NoISes!
They are therapeutic but very odd at the same time.

After reading everyone's comments, I realise I'm not alone in this. I also invent a humming tune sometimes on my way to work or use a tissue while I'm walking regardless if I need to blow my nose or not.
Other times after a stressful day at work, I recreate the Rock's entrance line at home. Maybe because I liked wrestling as a child and I recently watched Dwayne's show (Ballers) could be the reason I do it but it has been a stress relief mechanism for me.
when i go to the supermarket, i hum quietly to myself, it seems to stop the sound/air urge building up and eventually breaking out into something on a scale that other people find freaky.
I usually hum the same default tune but sometimes I have the presence of mind to change it to something i recently heard on the radio.
Search the forum for "stimming", Rach - you might be surprised just how how many of us get the same urge, and an infinite variety of others!
Harvey nesbits , and spherical bovine to name but 2.
Spherical bovine ,is one of the odd wordings that i come out with from time to time...lol
Theres something silly and enjoyable about its sounds.
The way that I soak up accents without meaning to has gotten me into a bit of bother before now - people thinking that I'm taking the mickey out of the way that they speak. I really don't mean to do it - in fact, if you ask me to do an impression of an accent on purpose, I'm usually hopeless at it.
Scibidididababdo is mine
Fluglebinder is my favourite
I just had a thought, I often chew gum at work as I get sometimes have jaw tension, I'm wondering if that might help channel some of the speaking and singing energy to reduce accidentally speaking aloud? Perhaps not helpful but mentioned just in case!
when i go on tne streets, i sing in silence in my head. Sometimes i forget and sing out loud, really awkward.
I also talk alone all the time. i try to mask it the best i can. If i have someone to talk to, i stop but most of the times, there's no one around.
i can understand that people get afraid cause it is really awkard. But i just can't help it. I try to mask the best i can.
You're definitely not alone in this - when I'm at home I repeat certain words and syllables. I also rock and have twitches especially in my arms and hands. Like Beefree my voice changes too and often sounds 'childlike' but that seems to be where it's at at the moment. Sometimes it can be quite singsong and sometimes monotone, depending on how quickly I can find the correct words.
I like to scat.....making random sounds to a kind of internal beat. I do this when I struggle to get words to come out properly. People don't seem to mind they find it funny... I do too so it generally makes us both laugh.
I also acquire random accents... People often think I am from Australia when they meet me for the first time. I'm from Yorkshire and have never been to Australia.
Not sure if this is what you mean but seems like lots of us on this forum experience some atypical speech and noise making.
Bless you for your reply"
I have a few wierd noises that I get a compulsion to make sometimes, and to say made up words sometimes as well.
It's kind of hard to describe the noises. I don't do them with my mouth, they're in the back of my throat with my mouth shut. One is sort of half-way between a growl and a purr, and another I can only describe as "throat whistling". I quite often catch myself doing it and don't know when I started. They're not very loud, so I don't get caught doing it very often.
The made up words; I jokingly call "speaking in tongues". I really like combinations of sounds that English words don't usually have, and I find it really fun to do. I can usually resist the urge if there are other people around, but I sometimes slip into it, or just normal talking to myself out loud, without noticing.
