A bit of fun for anyone interested
I would take - an insulation blanket that could double up as a shelter from the elements. My 2 dogs, chocolate and drinking water.
Simple
1) My bed - so I could stay snuggled up in perpetual escape from the world
2) A podcast playing device (phone probably) - I’d be listening to dramas/documentaries/ghost stories/true crime whilst in bed escaping from the world
3) My headphones - see above
4) My entire collection of Nerina Pallot albums - just love her music and listen to her daily while escaping from the world, usually on my journey to work.
5) My entire ‘Jack Reacher’ collection (by Lee Child) - so when my ears needed a rest I could escape from the world through reading my favourite books.
The End
All very good answers, I think I would definitely take a spear gun, chisel, saw, rope, 100%alcohol.
Boat, compass, waterproof map, sextant and waterproof guide book on traditional navigation methods.
OK now the intended way..
Knife, lighter, tarpaulin, pillow, and a saucepan.
The thinking is I'd gradually learn the skills I need to make fire and shelter, but assuming I got there without the skills in the first place, these objects would enable me to survive the first month or so, long enough to acquire the skills.
