Moderator rules on what is replied to..

Is anyone able to provide detail if the rules and threshold tests that NAS moderators abide by, or is it down to personal judgement.

I.e a post about a woman being raped is not responded to, or an adult who rarely gets visitors and is living in isolation, or posts relating to adult suicide. However other posts warrant intervention?

Curious ...

  • Greetings, Miss-Mysterious-Dot (!)... I was not logging on today, but I see this, so I put something in to tide You over... (sort of) 'til NAS responds.

No slight intended, but Your Good Self not posting much here lately, may have made You forget how this Forum can be, and most of all how capricious (awful) the WWW/Internet is in general. For RULES, there is/was a link upon the Home Page (seems to have disappeared lately. NAS, please put it back, eh?)...

...Pretty much certain keywords - suicide, kill, any swear-words - will set off the Auto-Filter and a Moderator will look into it when they have the time; & this is how Threads are censored or deleted and is also how the likes of Yourself or Myself, or Trolls or spammers gain "points" or gain "anti-points" (something like that!) towards a "reputation" upon this Forum.

...With regards to Your last paragraph, what is responded to or even posted upon this forum is *not* down to NAS... it seems bad, but if a suicidal etc. person posts and they recieve no replies (apart from from NAS), then that is likely due to no-one else knowing what to do about their predicament.

...Also there is the fact that at certain times there is no NAS watching, at all, and this is how spam and trolls sometimes get through.

The only "main" advice I can suggest is what NAS Themselves have said at Me: Start a New Thread *with the problem IN THE TITLE OF THE THREAD*. ... This here Thread might turn out to be a good example; You have put the word "Moderator" in it, so that should get the attention of said person(s). It sounds too obvious when I point it out, but, well, We shall see, One supposes...? (Previous good Examples include the "Mods please make the spam stop" and "Trolls upon this forum" Threads.)

  • "Click Reply under the message to which you want to respond. For a new topic, first search to check for an existing thread. To start one, choose the most relevant in our list of forums. Please make sure that you have read the rules."

...The RULES link is still there, after all. But NAS cannot force anyone to follow them and can only censor those whom they see as determined to not do so (Trolls & Spammers).

(...sorry about this, but I think I must sign off, now. Not even an hour... pfui... at least I got *one* post in for a week so far...)
