Not Learning From Experiences

Hello everyone

I've been doing some research on this subject and beleive it's termed Experiential Learning, however I've not as yet found any good information on this in Asperger's Syndrome.

Does anyone have any references to information about this they could share? Or is the reason I've not found any because it is not typically an AS feature?

Also, does anyone else in the community have a problem with this?

Me too, I wondered wether its because if a situation is slightly different, it feels like a completly new situation so i dont know how to react? ie no 2 situations will ever be exactly the same

Thanks for replying, I've heard something similar said to me many times like, "what do you mean it's different?!" them, "it's exactly the same", me "no its not, it's different".

I'm traumatised once more from another person. I thought I'd learnt the last time as I thought ok that's not okay I will handle things differently. This was a new location, new people. I was super uncomfortable but instead of speaking up I froze on the spot then let myself be guided out the room. There I had a meltdown

I feel like a failure tbh. I'm almost 40 :(
