Not Learning From Experiences

Hello everyone

I've been doing some research on this subject and beleive it's termed Experiential Learning, however I've not as yet found any good information on this in Asperger's Syndrome.

Does anyone have any references to information about this they could share? Or is the reason I've not found any because it is not typically an AS feature?

Also, does anyone else in the community have a problem with this?

Thanks

  • I definitely have a problem with not learning from experiences when it comes to social nuances and decision making. I have been bullied or taken advantage of in some shape or form throughout my life. Also, when deliberately trying to tough it out in anxiety provoking situations, I don’t learn anything sub consciously that could evoke a less anxious reaction the next time around. My mind does not habituate or adapt for the next possible occurrence of a particular stressor, no matter how much I ‘practise’.
