help stop the prosecution of autistic people seeking help when suicidal

I have told my story on here lots and have now started a campaign to try and highlight one of the problems with the English legal system.

I hope this will get some publicity and help

please look and see what you think. It's not really about the money (although that shows actions), but more to raise publicity and debate about prosecution of autistic people who have no intention of harm or criminal actions, but who are being judged by neurotypical standards, which will cause harm to autistic people

  • This is a crowd funding site and I'm not sure what they are for if not to raise money - I'm not being critical here I'm just trying to understand what your end goal is and how you plan to get there and what the £1,000 is to pay for. I have never used a crowd funding website so I may be showing my ignorance here.

I in no way mean to sound critical because I'm not and I am very sorry if that is how I sound, but I am rather confused by your page and the title of this thread. The confusing thing for me about the page that you link to is the last paragraph of the "Background to my Case" section and the paragraph in the green box titled "Summary of my Case".

The title of this thread makes it sound like more than one person is being prosecuted simply for asking for help when they feel suicidal but you page says that -"There has never been another case of conviction for someone requesting help when truly suicidal and following medical advice from other parties".

If people are being wrongfully prosecuted then obviously it must be stopped but I would also hate for people who are suicidal to be put off asking for help for fear that they might be prosecuted.

Any clarity you can offer would be much appreciated. :)

  • The crowd funding site Crowd justice is there to raise the profile of legal issues ( and make a bit of money to run the site). My costs so far have been £60,000 and my appeal is another ?£15,000

Perhaps I should explain the last paragraph section more fully, but it is complex research that I was doing ( that has been used by facebook) and I was definitely caught in an internet trap (while investigating scam sites)that sold or gave information in a distorted form to the police. The police withheld information in my trial, did not understand my autistic purpose, which was certainly not malicious in any way, but instead was a medical psychological action to save my life and my family.

Prosecutions for malicious communication are increasing and there is a need to ensure they are appropriate and are not used if there is a valid reason for the communication.

Maybe I should change it ?? Only one contribution so far and that is from a friend

  • No that is very helpful and explains my own understanding and my amazement that Iwas convicted fordoing what I thought was helpful. It was based on my own specialised psychology knowledge and medical knowledge

  • Thanks for replying - I do appreciate that.

As an outsider who doesn't know you or your situation I did rather feel like I was missing the point - it probably makes better sense to you when you read it because you have the whole story already fully formed in your minds eye and it fills in the bits that I'm missing. Even going back and reading it again after you explained I'm still not finding it as clear as I would like.

I'm probably being a bit thick but when I read the title I expect to get something a bit different from what I read in the synopsis (for want of a better word). Again this is not a criticism just an observation. If I wasn't here chatting with you on this site my confusion would have had me dismiss your 'case' quite quickly.

But like I say I could just be being a bit thick - it has been known to happen. Relaxed
