Diagnosis = Autistic, but where/what level?

Hi I've just been diagnosed as autistic, but I was expecting a bit more detail; "you're level x", or "you're high functioning."

Is this kind of diagnosis the norm for an adult diagnosis?

Edit - just seen and understood the F rating on the letter which helps.

  • Personally I don't really understand why people are sometimes so keen to have a 'level' of some kind. I don't think it's useful information. This is a really good article about why functioning levels or describing it as 'mild' or 'severe' don't really make sense and what autism being a spectrum really means. It's all individual and I think that's the best way of looking at it.
