Counselling

How would you feel if you sense your partner is more attached to his/her counsellor than what's necessary when they are technically no longer in need of the counselling itself?

Parents
  • It wasn't until he said he would not "miss her"

Sorry for the misunderstanding but do you mean he would miss her? You then go on the explain that you think a bond has been formed?

If you believe an inappropriate bond has been formed have you ruled out/considered the below:

    • Seeing the counselor has become routine and familiar for him
    • It might be a place he can share things he wants to say to you but cannot find the right words
    • Your feelings are valid because you are feeling them but are you judging his behaviour of that of a NT person?
    • Depression and autism are very closely linked - you cannot tackle one without considering the other
    • Have you communicated your worries in a concise, logical way to him - in a way that would not request an emotional response?
