Sleep and relaxing

I find it really difficult to sleep unless i’m really tired and I can only sleep if the air around me is cold with a cold pillow, I think I might have insomnia.

I also can’t sit on a chair without clapping my knees together constantly, it happens without me even thinking about it.

How do you relax?

Because the most relaxed I feel is when I’m playing sport where everyone else says relaxing is lying down doing nothing. I don’t understand why anyone would do that because it’s not fun or productive and just a waste of time.

Is it just me or is this relatable?

  • I can relate to this strongly, not sleeping almost got me to breaking point as I am a strict 8 hrs person and if I don't get it im all over the place.

My Gp prescribed quitiepine 25 mg (off licence) one at night I've found this has made a massive improvement, unless Im really stressed then nothing works,

Quitiepine is usually prescribed at 300mg or above for schizophrenia but is brill for sleep at 25mg.

Or If Im woken in the middle of the night by anything or anyone eg snoring........

I also use a fan even when its freezing I like the breeze on my face and the white noise

  • 8 hours, I can’t do that.

6 will be a good night for me. I can’t get tired enough without staying up late unless I’ve had serious social interaction which is distressing enough.

I’m also kept awake by reflections on my past and to times at school when I had been treated differently when I didn’t know why as although I was diagnosed early it was kept a secret from me for many years. I get angry with myself sometimes for no reasons thinking I’m not good enough and without physical action to counter those thoughts nights can be odd times.

  • I jnowvehat you mean if evervtheres a time of day or night we can become haunted by our past its slways night and with me usually 3 am.

  • For me it’s the hour after the TV has been turned off or the music has stopped because it isn’t working so I’m just lying alone drowning in my thoughts.
