Eccentric dress style

Do many of you have an eccentric dress style?

People they see me in my corduroy trousers, button-up shirt, camel coat and fedora hat and give me dirty looks, stare and make aggressive body movements. I in turn become nervous sometimes and start pacing or looking all around, then have to leave an area and go somewhere else. I could dress as casually as most people but wouldn't feel right.

I find most conversations and interactions with people too informal for my taste so dressing more formally is my way of signalling to people I don't do modern casual informal conversations well.

  • I don't have *much* of an eccentric dress style, though I want that more and more as I age.

I haven't worn a shirt and/or tie to work since I went sick in Oct 2017, and I'm now sitting here in fluorescent green trainers, purple jeans, a Christmas jumper over what I can only describe as a 'blouse print T-shirt', and green-framed specs. So I'm trying :-).

Partly I've been fighting one thing that gets me really annoyed about clothes shops; the "women's" section is full of pattern and colour, then if you step into the men's you have to wade through a sea of various shades of charcoal, beige and navy.

BTW anyone who knows me in real life will now know who I am!
