problems with asserting myself

Whenever I am in a situation where I need to assert my point across on a serious topic, for example, my manager claiming I'm not performing high enough when in actual fact, I'm overloaded with what to do, I begin to go really light headed, dizzy and my vision darkens, as if I'm about ti black out. does anyone else on here get that? and if so, can anything be done about it? I'm getting sick of not being able to stick up for myself every time the manager tries to take her frustration out on me :(

  • I wish I could agree with you there scorpion, but I am actually very self aware, and it's not hyperventilation :(

Sometimes, it's just a brief one second "Woah.. went a bit hazy there", upto a full on tunnel vision like experience. I can actually get the sensation from a quick thought of horror, "What was that knock on the door?!" or "Oh no! This will happen tomorrow!", not just in a face to face serious debate over who is right.

It's getting so common at work now, I'm considering going doctors and getting signed off till I can get things sorted out.. If it was a full black out, as opposed to these "grey outs", it would be so much easier..
