I like to think that success and failure are both relative.  My ethos is: If you set yourself up to fail, and you do... then you've succeeded!

I finally took my walk along the beach to the Downs after dinner.  It was special.  Cold, clear, bright.  The light had a quality you don't see at any other time of year.  It was uplifting.

Had a great Christmas day?

I've built 3 Sherman tanks and 3 M3 Half-tracks, another 7 to go. The Lego if for later today but the Playmobil got put together and played with.

I remember when his New York flat was featured on 'Through the Keyhole'.  It was instantly recognisable to me.  Chris Tarrant was on the show, and remarked 'It's a tip.' 

It was.  Dirty fingermarks and junk everywhere.  But I'm sure Quentin was happy with it... which is all that mattered.

Yep.  I love them all.

Oh yes. And I love this Quentin Crisp quote too:

As I just demonstrated.  I saw my ex-sister-in-law at my niece's house (popped in there and got poured a glass of brandy big enough to stun a giraffe).  We had a good time playing Charades.  My ex-SIL always had a good sense of fun.  She said at one point 'I never change' - to which I found myself replying 'I thought you were wearing the same clothes you had on last Christmas!'  For a moment, I thought she was offended.  But then she laughed.

And, because it’s Christmas. This Quentin Crisp quote seems apt:

“Living en famille provides the strongest motives for rudeness combined with the maximum opportunity for displaying it.”

Thank you, I feel much better after a long walk and a scramble up and down some rocks. Hope your day has been settled too x()x

I hate carveries - all that meat under heat lamps for god knows how long!

I'll probably hide my head in a rubbish sack by the end of the day!

I imagine there are quite a few of us wanting to replicate Daisy’s pose right now :) 

The weather has cleared up and it looks fine.

But last year I walked there.  And didn't enjoy the walk.  Too long and through dodgy neighborhoods.

Hope it works out ok Robert, it is nice that they want you so much they are picking you up and driving you there, if it doesn’t work out I know you will really enjoy that walk, if you do have to walk just remember I will be with you, as I have just told you so!. think of me as you walk freely looking all around and taking the beauty of nature, x()x
