Pet hates, what are yours?

I get very irritated quite easily when people do things that I think are unacceptable and rude. I end up obsessing about it. The following are my pet hates:

People texting on mobile phone in my company, particularly when they don't ask my permission - hate the  click click sound of texting with a passion.

People snacking in my company, particularly when walking and when I am not eating. I am against people snacking in public: I think it is rude and disorderly. Snacking should be done in the home at set times - I realise I am very strict, but can't help it.

Cars mounting pavements - rude, dangerous and selfish.

People saying sorry when they don't really mean it because they repeat the behaviour. Like saying 'sorry' for being late and then being late all the time.

Some accents and ways of speaking make me annoyed.

When people touch my possessions without asking.

When people assume things without asking.

Can't stand the word 'bless' or when women say 'she says' after finishing a sentance.

Can't stand the word 'awesome'.

People who don't cover their mouth when coughing or sneezing.

People who go to work feeling ill - spreading disease is rude and selfish (not talking about colds, but about real sickness)

Homophobics, racists, sexists, and those who ridicule the disabled.

Cars - polluting, dangerous, noisy

Electric lawnmowers - noisy

People who sit opposite me on the train when there are other seats available

  • Smoking in public places or in enclosed areas shared with non-smokers.

Commercials on TV.  I really resent my enjoyment of a programme being continually interrupted by someone flashing some product on the screen while talking to you in a high pitched voice as if you were 3 years old, especially if I'm paying for the TV service.

Pop-up internet ads and ones that pop up on the screen when you're watching TV.  I hate the way just about everything is exploited commercially.

People tapping their pens on their desks.

    High-pitched and loud noises.

    Spitting in public

    Cars parked on the pavement

Radios playing at work or long bus journeys.  You are a captive audience and it is forced on you

    Cold callers

Celebrity culture and all things kitsch.
