This is nothing to do with hunger. In fact, I have no idea why I feel the need to chew so often.
Does anyone have any experience of this, please? There is something called sensachew toys. Has anyone tried these and do they help?

My son has chewing issues and I got loads of safe chewing tubes off of Amazon, Just put chewy tubes in a search engine and it comes up with load. Saves on clothes etc.
I even got one which is on a retractor cord so he can clip it to his trousers and pull it out when he feels the need to chew, biggest problem I have come across is getting my son to reconize when he wants to chew because he dose it without thinking and chews anything.
Good luck
You can get chewigems as well, I ordered one along with a chewy tube for my daughter (she finds chewing very calming), I ordered from this site;

The chewigem is really soft and flexible wheras the tube is alot tougher but she enjoys both of them.
I now have the dog tags and have the firm ones. They're not that hard, in my opinion. I still have some baby teeth and do have teeth coming through.
my 9 yr old chews things, we were recomended chewlery but its a bit girly for him, I was looking a the dog tags but unsure if i should get soft or hard, she still has all his baby teeth, can anybody recomend which would be best, its all new to me.
Me again with the update.
Got the sensachew dog tags, put one away in case I lose/break the first, washed it and started chewing. Two hours of straight absent minded chewing and not even a dent! I went for the firm option.
It does look pretty good, its rather big at first sight but it does make it better to chew on. Haven't eaten anything in a about an hour as I can now keep my teeth busy chewing on the dog tags.
I'd recommend it!
Hi Stranger,
I've ordered the dog tags, worked out it would be cheaper for me in the long run if they last more than a month compared to my biltong, so I'll try and remember to post any feedback. Should arrive in 5-7 days!
Thanks for your reply. I was looking at the dog tags too. It's nice to know I'm not alone in this.
I know what you mean. When I was little I used to chew on the headboard of my old wooden bed, lately I keep gnawing on biltong, a really tough dried meat, downside of this, it's pretty expensive.
The sensacew stuff sounds great, especially the dog tags! May invest in one and see how it goes...
