Hi all,
My daughter could not cope with mainstream education. She was deemed unfit for school by CAMHS and subsequently was given a place at an alternative provision. She started online one-to-one in October 2022. She is now actually going in for group lessons 3 mornings a week. This is all hugely positive - she is feeling really good about school. Unfortunately, we have been made aware that this alternative provision will most likely come to an end this year with the plan to move her back into mainstream education. There is no way she will be able to do this. The reason the alternative provision is working is because it meets her needs.
Is there anything we can do? Because she is a lot better mentally, she was discharged from CAMHS and we have never really have much contact with our GP so getting another letter basically signing her off mainstream school is going to be difficult. She will be year 10 in September and she wants to do her GCSEs at the alternative provision. We are in Essex.
Many thanks for any advice
