Unbound are highlighting (https://unbound.com/books/stim/) a book which should find a natural readership on this forum.
For those unfamiliar with Unbound, they are crowdfunding publisher and Stim is currently 22% funded. The book will only go ahead if it is at least 100% funded. Anyone may pledge and there are various options (depending on the book). For Stim the lowest pledge is £10 (which gets you a digital copy of the book plus your name in the back of the book) and the highest pledge is £5,000 (which gets you 25 e-books, 25 limited edition hardback books and more). There is also a 'low earner level' pledge of £12 (which gets you a copy of the first edition hardback, an e-book and your name in the back of the book).
The web page contains a list of the book's contributors and the editor provides al ink for people who might wish to contribute to the contents of the book.
I have only pledged support for one book so far and that was Dave Hill's (of Slade) autobiography; I even received a Christmas card from Dave Hill!
Many thanks
Hi Matthew,
The most important thing to discover when you want to write something is whether you are a plotter or a pantser -- do you need to know exactly what's going to happen or do you like letting your characters decide the course of the plot. Perhaps you are the former, like me.
I recommend looking into some writing books to help you understand a bit more about how you work. On Writing by Stephen King is very well liked across writers.
Hi. I’m am creative in nature but poor in execution. I have ideas for books and tv series etc, but putting pen to paper never does it justice.
Any tips?
Matthew
You are welcome. I hope the book receives sufficient funding.
For anyone who is looking to submit for this, here are the pitch guidelines: https://lizziehuxleyjones.com/pitch-guidelines-for-stim/
I'm looking for stories, essays, creative non fiction, comics, illustrations, and photography. All commissions are paid £150 for their work. The pieces don't have to be about autism specifically.
Wow thanks for sharing caretwo! I decided to log in today so I could tell people about it and encourage people to pitch me. Thanks for spreading the word :)
