6 month old baby - insight appreciated

Hello,

I have a 6 month old baby at home who is a lovely little boy. He plays a lot, loves his milk and sleeps like a dream.

My wife (who’s brother is autistic) is increasing concerned however about his intermittent eye contact. He will look us both in the eyes but not for particularly long (a few seconds). This is better when on the changing mat or in the pram, however. He babbles quite well and everything else about him appears to be on track. He is very interested in new people and new things and his attention is taken very quickly. He smiles quite a lot.

I just wondered if anyone in the community has either had similar concerns with their babies or would know of the best place to perhaps gain some expert insight. i know that tests for ASD on children do not start until c.15 months, but it is very worrying for my partner.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!
