Newly diagnosed and looking to make neurodivergent friends

Hello! My name's Chloe, and I've recently been diagnosed with autism at the age of 32. I'm a high masking autistic female.

I've always felt different, but it's only over the last few years that I've learned more about autism in women, specifically high-masking women, and discovered that I was autistic myself. 

I've always struggled to make and maintain friendships, due to working from home and not having the opportunity to meet people, but also due to feeling very different to neurotypicals and unable to relate to them. I don't have anyone else around me who is neurodivergent. 

I'd really like to make like-minded friends and find a community. 

I live in the North West of England with my husband and our cat and I work in marketing.

My interests include gaming, reading, writing, music, crafts, collecting handbags and astrology. I'm also currently learning to speak Mandarin Chinese!

    I am Tabitha. I am a 27 year old Teacher living in Yorkshire. I was diagnosed with autism when I was 25 following years of attending training to do with autistic students and realising that all this autism stuff felt rather familiar to me. 

    I also struggled with maintaining friends and whilst my current friends are good, they are all neurotypical and so don’t really understand some of the struggles. It’s quite lonely at times.

    I also live with my husband and cat (Mia) who mean the world to me.

    I enjoy reading (especially Romantasy which is a newly discovered  genre for me). I love Doctor Who. I love my cat (but don’t know if she counts as a hobby. I also love planning things like holidays which I never actually go on. Does browsing rightmove count as a hobby? I spend too much time on rightmove.
