I'm Darcie (F/26)

I made a post over two years ago telling how I had an assessment with Healios and got no diagnosis.

Well... Here I am, two and a half years later WITH A DIAGNOSIS! 

A company called Solutions 4 Diagnostics reached out through my NHS team and said thay had taken on my referral. 

Within 2 weeks, I'm booked, assessed and diagnosed as autistic. 

Someone finally saw my struggles, my masking, everything, and said that without a doubt, I'm autistic!

    Well done for persevering and putting yourself through the process twice (been there, likewise, "got the t-shirt" too - so I understand how nerve-racking, stressful and frustrating: "misfire one", long gap, followed by "result two" can be).

    With the benefit of hindsight, it is now obvious to me that my GP (when I was around 4 years of age, things I remember him remarking upon but I only now appreciate the relevance) had reached the same conclusion (the term Autism was never used in my earshot) but battled the situation of my having one parent in persistent denial and the other more accepting parent who unfortunately was not always able to be present in my life.

    Onwards and upwards!
