Hi, does anyone know, are there any support groups I can attend please?
Is everyone on here from UK?
I'm in Ireland and there is absolutely nothing that I can find so far
Dear TismTisnt,
You can try searching on our Autism Services Directory for support and social groups in your local area.
In addition, we have 115 volunteer-led branches across the UK. Our hard-working volunteers run support, information and social activities for autistic adults, children and their families in their local area. They also organise and join in with fundraising and campaigning. Find out more by searching for a branch near you: https://www.autism.org.uk/what-we-do/local-branches
We also have volunteer-led online branches for autistic people to reach out and seek peer support for a shared interest, identity or experience: www.autism.org.uk/.../online
Kind Regards,

I’m in Greater Manchester.
I messaged my GP this morning & she was able to squeeze me in for a f2f after work. She has recommended Bluesci & to ref myself to talking therapies. When I called Bluesci, they said there may be a ND group next Wednesday evening called ‘we are one’. I’ve got to call bk later in the week to check it’s still on. It will be great if it is.
I think a lot of it comes from people never really moving on from being teenagers where they feel theres nothing worthy of thier massive talents, I've seen this carry on into adulthood for so many people, I think that a lot of people are useless at entertaining themselves, they're to used to having life neatly portioned up into things they have to do and places they have to be and unstructered time is scary.
I know the sorts of things I'd want to do, they only problem is nobody else wants to do them or they want to do them in a way I'm uncomfortable with.
Yes it does and you know what I'm fed up of having to set up groups and organise stuff to supposedly help myself, only to end up being the one supporting everyone else
Your turn of phrase does make me smile sometimes, even if you don't mean it to.
I don't understand how few people WANT to do anything in comparison to how many complain there's nothing for them to do!

As for getting funding I wouldn't know where to start.
Other people would probably decide that most of the help should be app based which is no good for me. So I'll stay in my own garden and my books and let everyone else get on with it all without my input. If that sounds like I've given up, it's because I have.
doom-loop....
maybe. I guess it only takes a couple of ASD people in your area to come up with the idea of forming a collective and it can all change??
If you're an adult, anywhere, then seriously consider give up hoping..........although one of my mantras is that "there is always hope"......so I guess I've just got myself trapped in my own doom-loop....albeit based on personal experience.
im in nz and there is not aklot of support here but I found enrich plus AMAZING I suggest checking them out as I'm ;pretty sure they are in other country's too
Support groups for ASD or other conditions are normally found locally, and this is a national site. So it is probably best to look around within your local area, perhaps social media & the like, to see what support is on offer.
This support tends to be from the voluntary sector, so it is hit and miss as to whether any is available, and the quality of it. I'd also suggest you speak with your GP who can normally put you in touch with a variety of groups that might be of interest through social prescribing.
You can read more about this here

If you feel you need more general mental health support, you can approach Mental Health Services directly, who normally provide a range of talking therapies. You don't need to go via your GP.
