What is this study about?
This study aims to understand some of the experiences of autism amongst black women in the UK as this is a very important but significantly under researched area. This project aims to recruit 12 participants to share their experiences and contribute to this research.
What will happen?
If eligible, you will be offered a face to face or online interview to discuss your experiences of being autistic with the aim of improving autism diagnosis and support for Black Women and Girls. All participants will receive an Amazon gift card for their contribution and your personal data will be kept confidential.
Eligibility:
- Were assigned female at birth
- Identify as a Black Woman of Black African/Caribbean/Mixed Descent
- Have been formally diagnosed with autism by a professional
- Are 18 years old or older
- Have lived in the UK for most or all of your life
