getting advice and support after diagnosis aged 60+

I have always known I was different - unique and quirky - finally had my diagnois during lockdown and I have struggled to get support that is not based at parents teachers or professionals - I really need a mentor to help me - I am also disabled and mostly housebound and my world is getting smaller! any advice welcomed please!

  • Hi Bickie :)

Well done on getting your diagnosis.

What kind of support exactly are you looking for? Maybe we can help signpost you to resources?

I have found citizens advice quite helpful as well as other autism charity sites (there might be ones in your area). You could also try and find meet-up or event kinds of groups in your area to meet with like minded or neurodiverse people.

My world is also quite small, I live alone and don't go out much, but I'm not desperately unhappy I guess...
