Stimming(repeat movements) and autism with ADHD associated

Hi, I'm a woman, I'm 20 years old and I live in Brazil. I have stimming that is taking a toll on my health, I need to jump and walk back and forth to ease the anxiety, but my knees have been overloaded because I have to stimming so often. In addition to autism, I also have ADHD, and I can't find another stimulus or repetitive movement to "replace".

Any tips?

I apologize if the text was confusing, I need to translate some words and it's hard to find communities like this in Brazil!

  • I find yoga can be very helpful when I feel the need to move.  I enjoy the feeling of muscles working and an awareness of my body, and it might help spend some of the excess energy too, without putting repetitive strain on the joints.  Also it helps focus the movement with steady breathing which can help with stress and anxiety.

There are lots of good instructors on YouTube that you can use to learn more.  My favourite is Yoga with Adrienne.
