Trouble with friends

I wonder if she "feels better" sitting on her own? Does she mind? I remember being on my own a lot at school. I didnt "fit in" and would switch from having friends to being on my own. I remember it being a difficult time. I wonder if she could team up with someone who is also autistic, now that she has a diagnosis? I had no one close to talk to and i didnt understand what was going on with me. Supporting her as you are and talking about it with her, im sure will help.

I wish i had known that i was autustic whilst in school. Now that i know, i tell some people so that they know what is going on with me. After all, it is not something to be ashamed of. Although, i know children and young people who lack understanding can be hurtful. X

Seconding, this, I found after a long struggle to make friends that all of us little odd ducks eventually found eachother and formed our own group by year 10. I'm still friends with one of my fellow secondary school odd ducks 20 years later.
OP If your daughter gets introduced to other kids in a similar boat it could be she finds a much quicker click and deeper connection in some kindred spirits.
