Gender crisis

Help! I'm not sure of my gender.

Having become emotionally damaged by a homosexual male at the age of 12, I'm still getting over it decades later. Socially, I only feel comfortable in situations where there are few or no other males (apart from myself) present.

Can anyone explain this situation to me, please?

  • I'm sorry that happened to you. As Peter says, we're not in a position to help directly, but talking to a professional who deals with this sort of  thing might help. It might also be worth reading up on the experiences of other autistic peoole and how they feel about gender- on the whole, autistic people tend to be more gender diverse than neurotypical people and our experience of our own gender can be quite different even when the identity itself is the same.
