Bullying

Were any other girls bullied at school? I'm not being bullied but my little sis is Year 7 and she's got Downs and a girl told me she's being bullied for it. I'm not sure what to do about it. I feel like confronting the bullies but I don't want to make it worse for Holly. I won't say to the teachers because no one does that in our school, if you grass you'll be singled out later on. So I think I need to deal with it but I don't know how.

Was any of you bullied? If you could say how you dealt with it that would be a big help.

Thanks.

  • Sorry the process is gonna suck but regardless. Ultimately school isn't going to last forever but bullying does take it's toll and if nobody stands up for her that feeling of helplessness and social abandonment will last her entire life. You can confront these people yourself if you really want to, but remember other kids labelling you "a grass" is a manipulation and shaming tactic they employ to retain their power to get away with their bad behavior and maintain their toxicity without repurcussion from a higher authority. These types of people are not your friends anyway, and will eventually single you out by association if they aren't already talking about you as "that girl with the Down's sister" behind your back anyway. You might as well invite that hammer to fall by telling the teachers and or safeguarding officer and get it over with and stand by your sister now. Because after you leave school you will never have to see these horrible kids again anyway, but your sister is for life. There's no love and solidarity that can top two siblings that are there for eachother.
