Lorna Wing autism assessment - 17 year old girl - waiting times

Hello!

My family and I are thinking of going down the private route for a diagnosis as the NHS waiting times are really long, but were wondering what a private assessment wait time is like and can’t find any information? The Lorna Wing centre has been recommended to us by CAMHS and just wondered if anyone knows what their wait times are like?

Thank you,

Sky

  • It might also be worth looking into Right to Choose (I've posted about it a few times recently as I'm intending to use it for and ADHD assessment). It allows you to choose who delivers your assessment, which can be a private clinic, but it's paid for by the NHS. I've had no specific experience with requesting it in the past, but the NHS eventually forwarded my referral to the Owl Centre and they arranged my assessment within about 4 months.
