Lorna Wing autism assessment - 17 year old girl - waiting times

Hello!

My family and I are thinking of going down the private route for a diagnosis as the NHS waiting times are really long, but were wondering what a private assessment wait time is like and can’t find any information? The Lorna Wing centre has been recommended to us by CAMHS and just wondered if anyone knows what their wait times are like?

Thank you,

Sky

  • I got on their waiting list in early 2022. They emailed me last month with the self referral forms as they had spaces opening up. I got a confirmation email yesterday with options for assessment and the wait time is 6 months. So that should be October. So for me it will be about 22 months from first contacting them (if I do get assessment in October).

I would make that initial contact and get on the waiting list. You can always change your mind later if you decide to go an alternate route.
