We are having an issue with our 9yo boy with ASD and car seats. If he becomes agitated or upset while in his carseat, he removes or undoes this seat belt and sometimes physically attacks whoever is driving. This had been only occasionally happenning but has become more common recently.
We have been looking at SEN carseats and 5 point harnesses etc but they all seem to need a seatbelt over the top of them to make them safe which defeats the point and most seem to be ones he would figure out how to open anyway as they are the same as regular 5 point harnesses.
Does anyone know of any seatbelt systems or other devices that could help us, we are at the point of switching exclusively to public transport instead (which has it's own issues as I'm sure you'll understand).
