Advice please

Hi I am a parent of a 16 year old   the school and I suspect she has ASD I also suspect ADHD she is soon to leave the local secondary school to attend a school miles away ... the issue is we are awaiting an assessment for autism and this wont be till December at the earliest , and I really need to arrange for her to get an EHCP because she would not be safe using public transport to get to school , I do not she would cope well with college and the SENco at her school agrees she is vulnerable I am trying to find help so I can help my daughter . My daughter has Developmental Delay diagnosed when she was small by [name removed] at the [location removed] when she was small and was under [name removed] for behavioural issues too CAHMS also have been involved and she is having CBT for anxiety and anger at this time I'm desperate now as in September I feel her safety is at risk who can help ????? Sorry for long message

    I would recommend that you visit the EHC Assessment section of the website - www.autism.org.uk/.../ehc-assessment.aspx - which explains how to contact your local authority to request an assessment, a template letter you can use if you wish, information about the appeals process if your request is denied, and so on. From what I understand you shouldn't need to wait until December to get an EHC plan.
