Hi everyone
My son is in year 4 and has been diagnosed with high functioning Autism/Asperger’s. He does well at school academically but struggles socially and has high anxiety and sleep problems as a result.
He’s been on the Sen Register for over a year with IEP’s in place but I feel we should apply for an EHC assessment now we know he has autism so he receives more support emotionally.
My question is, what extra help could potentially be available? Lesson times are easier for him but playtime is a nightmare as rules for games change like the wind, throwing him totally off track.
Know he won't find the transition to secondary school an easy one.
