Hi! survey: transition between primary and secondary school for children with autism

Hi all!

I would greatly appreciate your help in filling out this short survey for my 4th year dissertation. Exploring this topic from a parents perspective, I feel is crutial in helping children with autism through education, finding out the problems they face through the transition between primary and secondary school and perhaps with the data gathered in this survey finding out how to amend these issues. Your participation will be highly appreciated and beneficial in exploring this topic further, thank you! Any parent/guardian who has a child with autism, please click the link to participate.

  • Regardless of the rigour or ethical approval of any study, what could be clearer than time 6 of the community rules:

"6. If you are looking for people to take part in research studies, surveys or media work then visit out page about research and participation to find out how to contact us. Do not use the Community to make these requests without permission and approval from the NAS."

Your lecturer does not know every online forum's rules and cannot speak for every online forum that students may wish to recruit participants from. The fact that you can't see the problem in the scenario indicates your lack of understanding of ethical practice. Perhaps you could revise your approach then when you come to write up your research you can comment on how it did not go to plan (a completely normal part of scientific research, and acknowledging these occurrences is essential if your findings are to be credible.)

Furthermore, if your lecturer thinks it is fine for students to post requests in fora without first contacting moderators they  are misguided. If you don't know how to start a discussion with your lecturer to tell them their instructions as given are unethical then just show them this message.

Please amend your message to remove the link to the study, until you actually have moderator approval.
