Hello, just wondering if anyone has any advice they could offer?
We have a 9yo Son, recently diagnosed with ASD. Since then our normally happy 7yo Daughter has progressivly becoming more withdrawn and sullen. Yesterday she broke down in tears saying that she was feeling left out because of all the attention her brother gets. Naturally this broke our hearts as we just hadn't realised how much this has affected her, and feel terrible about it. We have noticed that she has also been "copying" some of her brother's behaviours, which most likely has been an attempt to get our attention. Her brother can also be so horrible to her, which is making her feel even more lonely in what should be her loving home.
I'm doubt that there's a "simple" solution to this, and we're just at a loss as to how to make sure our Daughter doesn't lose out. Any suggestions, advice or experiences that may help would be appreciated.
