My son, 13 years old, suffering from ASD/ADHD with moderate behaviour problem. He was on Medicines as Resperidone & Valproate for almost more than 1 year. Earlier to this he was on Retalin & Catapress for 2 years.But in last July,I was advised by a Psychiatrist to decrease or withdraw medicine. I had decreased the medicine to a minimum dosage of Aripiprazole only.After this,1 and a half months passed on an average condition and suddenly developed severe behaviour problem as starts crying and simultaneously attacking us badly along with throwing and breaking materials. It lasts for 10-15 minutes and happening 8-12 times in a day.All other time he remains almost OK. But when mood is changed - severe behaviour problem starts. In earlier time, he used to crying for some demands but no aggressively attacked, but now no demand as an excuse.
Finally we started medicine again after waiting for 2 and a half months waiting as no way! Now he is taking Peridol & Catapress with perkinil in addition to Resperidone & Epilim Chrono (Valproate ). And finally after increasing dosages for 2 weeks -his severe behaviour problem as crying and aggressively attacking is decreased, but not cured. Any suggestions from experienced or expert one??
